Scott Rogers: Pastor

Bro. Scott came to be the 22^nd Pastor of Wyatte Baptist Church in 2002. A Native of Corinth, Mississippi, Scott has served churches in West Tennessee, Central Mississippi, and Northeast Mississippi. He is married to the former Jennifer Foster of Pontotoc, Mississippi. They have two little girls: Sarah Anne and Grace. Although sometimes unorthodox in methodology, you will find that his preaching is reminiscent of the old time preachers that are harder and harder to find these days. We are a conservative church with a pastor who is conservative in his world view as well as his Biblical view.

John Allen May: Student Minister

Wyatte Baptist welcomed John Allen on Board in 2005. We feel that we have been truly blessed by God to have such a dynamic young man working with our young people. John Allen is a Tate County  native that has a feel for the culture and lifestyle of the people.  John Allen is married to the former Austin Lesley of Germantown, Tennessee. She is a great asset in both ministering to our girls and our music program. John Allen’s ministry strikes the perfect balance of activities and solid Bible instruction.  You might find John Allen ministering to our youth on a creek bank with a fishing pole, breathless during an afternoon pickup game, or around the lunch table at school. Whatever the case, you can bet he is sharing the love of Christ and the call to follow him.

The Praise Team

The music ministry at Wyatte Baptist Church is such a blessing.  We do not have one leader of our program but use a team approach.  We are blessed to have over 30 musicians and singers, who in addition to our choirs, serve the Lord on a rotating basis.  David Freeman and Jake Jones plan our services, rehearse the bands, and lead in worship.  Jennifer Rogers oversees all of our choirs and leads the Adult Choir.  At Wyatte you will find the latest in contemporary Christian music as well as Classic Hymns of the faith.

Nancy Hall: Ministry Assistant

We often joke that if something happens to Nancy we will have to lock the doors. Nancy is the wife of Steve Hall and has two children: Wyatt and Natalie. Words cannot express the significance that Nancy has in the ministry to the church. Some may only hear her kind voice as she answers the phone. Still, others know of all the vital tasks she carries out day to day. Nancy keeps track of the churches finances as well as our monthly budget. She prepares the weekly bulletin and the Wednesday night prayer list and produces the monthly newsletter. She also serves as the personal secretary to the Pastor. Although this is her job, it is easy to see that this is her ministry as well.

Don Lyon: Custodian

Bro. Don has been a faithful member and Sunday School teacher for many years. However, he recently came on board as our custodian. He and his wife Elizabeth have four children: Terry, Mark, Larry, and Bryan.      Bro. Don really does not view his position as a job. He truly sees his work as service to the Lord and it shows. When you come into the facilities at Wyatte you can tell that they are being cared for. This is not just another public building, this is God’s house. Bro. Don comes early and stays late. He goes above and beyond his job description. You can often hear people say, “You had better clean that up, Bro. Don will have a stroke!”
